Winterization Instructions

Applicable for all Robomow® models including iMow,RL500,RL550,RL800,RL850 and RL1000.
Recharge Robomow® to 'Fully charged', 'Ready, keep charging' stage, or at least for 24 hours.

Remove the Power Pack from the mower and store it at room temperature for the winter. Common places indoor/room temperature storage include basements, closets, utility rooms, etc.

It is recommended to charge the Power Pack once or twice throughout winter. If you are using a Rapid Charger, charge the Power Pack until the green light is illuminated.

Continue to charge for a few additional hours if possible to ensure a fully charged state.

Tips (all models)

  • The bare mower can be stored in a garage or shed during very cold weather It is recommended to cover the mower to prevent collection of dust, scratches etc.
  • DO NOT stand the mower in an upright position on the front or rear bumpers. Allow proper clearance around the mower to prevent punctures or damage to the bumpers.
  • DO NOT keep charging the mower for the entire winter.
  • There is no need to remove the fuse from the Power Pack.
  • It is recommended to store all Perimeter Switches indoors during winter storage. If the switch is mounted on a wall, fence, etc. the Perimeter Switch Back Cover can be left outside during winter.
  • For easier reconnection of the Perimeter Switch in spring , protect and mark the Plot connector left behind in the yard at the Perimeter Switch's location (possibly using a few pegs) and ensure the Connector is protected from any damage by possible snow removal etc.
Tips (for RL1000)
  • Charge at the Charging Station for 24 hours. CHarging the Power Pack using the Standard Charger or the Rapid Charger for 24 hours is also acceptable.
  • Remove the Power Pack from the mower and store at room temperature and store at room temperature for the winter.
  • Recharge once or twice during the winter in the protected storage area using the Standard Charger or Rapid Charger.
Charging station
  • Remove the Charging Station from the yard and store in the protected storage area (garage, shed, etc.)
  • For easier reconnection of the Charging Station in spring, protect and mark the Plot COnnector left behind in the yard at the Charging Station's location using a few pegs and ensure the Connector is protected from any damage by possible snow reomval, etc.
  • In warm climate states, such as California and Florida, the Charging Station can be left outside on the lawn. However, to ensure the safety and cleaningness of the Charging Station and the mower, it is recommended to store both in a garage , shed or protected storage area throughout the off-season.
Blades
  • It is recommended to purchase new blades for next season at this time.
